Programme Schedule

Duration of the programme

The Management Trainee Programme can be of twelve or eighteen months duration, depending on your level of previous studies. The duration of the programme will be decided by the Director of Human Resources.

The following is recommended

  • 12 months for Trainees who have completed a degree in hospitality related studies.
  • 18 months for Trainees who have completed an associate degree in hospitality related studies or a degree in a non-hospitality specific field.

Designing a customised programme

Your Management Trainee Programme will be designed so that you will reach a level of competence required to take on a junior management position at the end of your programme. Depending on your prior experience, the programme allows a degree of customisation; especially in the choice of special assignments and projects (a worksheet for these is attached). With this in mind, your programme will be carefully crafted, and through a process of collaboration agreed to by your Director of Human Resources, Training Manager and you.

What trainees have to say...

"It was my dream to join Burj Al Arab from the first moment I saw the hotel in a German TV documentary 5 years ago. I just loved the idea to be part of the only 7star Hotel team in the world. I am really thankful to everyone involved to have had the opportunity right after my graduation from the Swiss college to join as a Management Trainee and especially to whoever believed in my abilities and skills to bestow me the responsibility of a Guest Service Manager after having completed the Traineeship. The uniqueness of the great multicultural and friendly team at Burj Al Arab made possible a very fast integration. After two years of professional and personal growth within the company I know that I have made the right choice. It is exciting to be part of Jumeirah and look forward to the many future opportunities that are part if Jumeirah’s breathtaking worldwide expansion."
